In the enchanting Porto Cervo, surrounded by the intense fragrance of oleanders, lies H2O, a stunning seaside villa that celebrates water as its fundamental element. Nestled in the untamed greenery of the Mediterranean maquis, the residence seamlessly blends nature and innovation in a constant dialogue between indoor and outdoor spaces. The goal of this project was to design an open structure that offers intimacy without sacrificing breathtaking views of the Porto Cervo marina.
The unique rooftop entrance features an imposing iron door that, once opened, reveals two spacious suites and a contemporary sculpture evoking the shimmering flow of water, the dominant element of the entire villa. Two large LED-lit pools surround the house, while the rooftop offers a view that stretches out to the sea of the Costa Smeralda. The interior unfolds across multiple levels: on the lower floor, there are two living areas, one outdoor and one indoor; the second level features an elegant cascade of clear water, alongside the master bedroom and a spa. The materials used echo the surrounding nature, with glossy surfaces providing a refined contrast to the predominant white of the furnishings. The contemporary and minimalist design harmonizes with the client’s eclectic taste, incorporating unique elements such as a collection of resin reproductions of turtle shells and captivating ethnic details inspired by China, Japan, and Africa.
Entering H2O envelops you in an atmosphere of tranquility. The boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces becomes increasingly blurred, and the house seems to float above the blue water that dominates every perspective, with natural light flooding the spaces through large glass walls. Light tones and natural materials create a sense of serene harmony, and every detail evokes a feeling of refined lightness. This villa offers a unique experience where nature and architecture merge; it is a peaceful oasis that celebrates the unspoiled beauty of the Mediterranean.
