When it comes to design, true creative talent transcends mere aesthetics and lies in the ability to harmonize functionality and elegance. At an altitude of 10,000 meters, every detail becomes crucial, and every centimeter of space must be optimized. In this high-altitude design challenge, Fabrizio Cocchi brought his talent and passion to an extraordinary and singular project. The client’s unique request was to design and create the interiors of a private jet, providing spaces that offered the comfort and practicality of home without sacrificing luxury. Meeting such an exceptional commission required expertise, passion, and creative ingenuity to address even the most exclusive needs, elevating the very concept of luxury to new heights—literally. Designing the interiors of this jet presented several challenges: maximizing the use of limited space, ensuring the utmost comfort and practicality, and crafting sophisticated, emotional spaces that reflect Cocchi’s signature style. Every detail, from the selection of premium materials to the custom-made pieces, was meticulously curated. This project stands as a testament to Cocchi’s ability to transform any environment, even a technical and unconventional space like a private jet, into an exclusive and original masterpiece that blends form and function. Behind the entire creative process lies a refined and innovative vision capable of redefining the luxury flight experience.
The concept driving this project celebrates the journey itself, beyond the destination, a philosophy reflected in the carefully chosen materials and color palette. The centerpiece is Macassar ebony, an exotic, precious wood with distinctive striations that lend the interiors a unique and sophisticated character. The high-gloss lacquer further enhances the wood’s natural veining, creating surfaces that capture and reflect light. Complementing the intensity of the ebony are earthy velvets in shades ranging from dark taupe to chocolate. The seats, upholstered in Alcantara and nappa leather, feature light taupe and beige tones with a suede effect and visible saddle stitching, emphasizing the leather’s artisanal quality. Slightly burnished bronze hardware adds a touch of understated elegance, perfectly harmonizing with the warm tones of the wood and fabrics. In the bathrooms, Portoro marble, with its dark base and golden veining, pairs with burnished brass faucets, adding depth through contrasts of light and shadow. The strategic use of mirrors enhances the sense of spaciousness and luminosity, reflecting golden light that creates a vibrant and immersive atmosphere.
Technology constantly redefines the boundaries of what is possible, playing a key role in the creative process. For this extraordinary project, Fabrizio collaborated with a team of digital artists to build and visualize the project’s vision. The artists created a bespoke 3D animation that highlights every detail of the jet’s interior and exterior, offering the client a cinematic preview akin to a movie trailer. Alongside this cutting-edge approach, traditional renderings were also produced, essential during the design phase for exploring variations in fabrics, materials, and furnishings, refining the design, and making informed decisions before execution. Open communication and ongoing collaboration with the client were vital aspects of the process: every idea, suggestion, or modification was seamlessly integrated into the renderings, ensuring the client’s vision remained central to the project. Through digital technology, the journey from concept to realization becomes a transparent, participatory, and exciting experience, culminating in a space that not only meets but far exceeds the initial expectations and requirements.
