In the heart of Puglia, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and traditional dry-stone walls, stands an 18th-century villa restored to its original splendor. This project’s primary goal was to honor the home’s historic essence, enhancing its authentic details while integrating modern solutions to create a welcoming and functional space. Every intervention was designed to highlight the dialogue between past and present, celebrating traditional Apulian architecture and the natural materials of the region.
The design concept revolves around a delicate color palette inspired by the surrounding nature. Shades of powder blue, beige, and cream dominate the spaces, creating a relaxing and luminous atmosphere. The materials used are rooted in tradition: Lecce stone, with its warm and porous texture, lines the showers and some walls, while cement tiles decorate the floors of the living areas and bedrooms with geometric patterns reminiscent of ancient motifs. A standout feature is the master suite’s shower: a central masterpiece with a cascading waterfall from above, its hand-carved stone base serving as the focal point of the space. This design not only celebrates local craftsmanship but also gives the bathroom a unique, theatrical touch. Other details, such as Moroccan tadelakt used in the bathrooms, add texture and sophistication, making each room unique and full of character. The furnishings are composed of restored pieces recovered from greenhouses and old houses, integrated with modern elements to create harmony between styles. The large terrace overlooks a secret garden, where a majestic strelitzia plant takes center stage, offering a tranquil and intimate retreat.
Stepping into Villa Puglia feels like entering a timeless dimension. The attention to detail, use of authentic materials, and chosen color palette convey a sense of serenity and warmth. The house serves as a refuge where the past meets the present, offering an experience that awakens the senses and celebrates the essential beauty of simplicity. Every space tells a story, from the secret garden to the bright and welcoming interiors. Villa Puglia is more than a home: it is a place that invites slow living, in harmony with nature and tradition, making every moment spent here unforgettable.
